Design Process
Accurate Measurement and Planning: Before designing folding doors, technicians need to measure the installation space precisely. Only when the size is appropriate can it be the best.
Optimization of Structural Design: Designing a reasonable structure for folding doors is the key to ensuring quality. The distribution of forces on the doors should be considered, especially the forces borne by each connecting component during the folding and unfolding processes. High-strength aluminum alloys or steel are used as the frame materials, which can provide good support for folding doors. Material Selection
Frame Materials: High-quality folding door frames usually choose aluminum alloys or stainless steel. For example, the 6063-T5 aluminum alloy, with its optimized alloy composition, has good workability and weather resistance. After anodizing treatment, its surface hardness and wear resistance are further improved. Stainless steel frames are more sturdy and corrosion-resistant, and are suitable for occasions where extremely high strength and durability of doors are required, such as outdoor doors or doors in industrial sites. When choosing frame materials, materials with high strength and light weight are the first choice. Because the frames are installed on the door frames, it is not suitable to use too heavy steel materials to make frames, which will cause excessive load on the walls.
Door Panel Materials: There are various materials for door panels. Common ones include glass, wood and PVC boards. If glass door panels are chosen, tempered glass is recommended. Its strength is several times that of ordinary glass, and it has good impact resistance. Even if it breaks, it will form small particles without sharp angles, ensuring high safety. Wooden door panels can create a natural and warm atmosphere. Generally, solid wood or high-quality multi-layer solid wood composite boards are selected. Solid wood door panels need to undergo strict drying treatment to prevent deformation and cracking. Multi-layer solid wood composite boards enhance the stability of the door panels by laminating wood chips in different directions. PVC boards have relatively low prices, good waterproof properties and are easy to process, and are suitable for places with high requirements for moisture resistance, such as bathrooms and kitchens. There are many types of door panel materials, and reasonable designs and arrangements should be made according to the specific installation locations.
Hardware Accessories: Hardware accessories are a crucial part of folding doors, including hinges, tracks, handles and so on. Hinges should be selected from reliable products with flexible rotation, and usually made of stainless steel, which has good corrosion resistance and load-bearing capacity. The design and quality of tracks directly affect the smoothness of door opening and closing. High-quality tracks are made of high-precision aluminum alloy materials, and their surfaces are specially treated to reduce friction. Handles should be designed with ergonomics in mind, being easy to grip while also ensuring firmness and aesthetics. In terms of the materials used for hardware accessories, high-quality hardware accessories should be used. For example, hardware accessories made of high-quality materials can better withstand the test of time. Because door handles and hinges are used every time the door is opened or closed, they must be able to endure the wear and tear over time.
Production Process
Cutting and Processing: During the production process, the frame and door panel materials should first be cut precisely. For aluminum alloy and steel frames, high-precision cutting equipment such as CNC cutting machines is used to ensure that the precision of the cutting size is within the millimeter level. The edges of the cut materials should be polished to remove burrs, making the edges smooth and preventing users from being scratched. For door panel materials, for example, glass should be cut and edge-ground according to the designed size; wooden door panels should be cut and shaped through precise woodworking equipment to ensure the dimensional accuracy of each component. Precise cutting of door and window materials is the basis for product qualification. Only by precisely cutting the materials can they be installed properly. If the size is too large or too small, it will affect the installation. Using highly precise cutting can make the frames of doors and windows more regular and meet customers’ needs. Quality Inspection
Appearance Inspection: Check whether the surface of the folding doors is flat and smooth, without obvious scratches, dents or bubbles. For painted doors, check whether the paint film is uniform and there is no peeling phenomenon. For wooden doors, check whether the wood grain is natural and beautiful and whether the joints are tight and seamless. For glass door panels, check their transparency and whether there are impurities. Before transporting the products, sampling inspections should be carried out to check whether there are any deficiencies in the products. If some basic problems are not solved properly, these details are the keys to controlling quality.
