Located in suburban Montreal, this project upgrades the outdoor leisure area of a detached residence. The homeowner wanted to preserve the courtyard’s openness and natural daylight while adding a reliable shaded and protected area that could remain comfortable during summer, rainy periods, and snowy winters. The project uses a modern minimalist aluminum pergola with a reinforced frame, sloped drainage roof, and weather-resistant surface treatment. These features improve wind resistance, snow-load capacity, drainage, and corrosion protection. The clean matte dark-gray structure integrates naturally with the home’s exterior, combining functionality, contemporary style, and architectural consistency. After completion, the pergola became a versatile space for family gatherings, daily relaxation, outdoor dining, and courtyard entertainment. It extends the home’s usable living area and enhances the overall quality and value of the backyard.
