Design Considerations
Space Planning
Opening Space: Double-leaf doors open to both sides, so enough space should be reserved to avoid the doors colliding with furniture, walls or other obstacles when opening. Generally, at least 60 to 80 centimeters of space should be reserved on both sides of the door. The opening space generally requires sufficient room to be reserved to prevent hitting the door when opening or closing it, which may cause damage to the door. The opening space means that the doors should open outward from the middle part. In this way, the opening will be smoother. Also, the opening direction of the doors, whether inward or outward, should be determined well. As long as the design of the switch is reasonable, it will be fine.
Passage Space: Determine the width of the door according to the usage scenario and the flow of people. Generally, the width of the entrance door of a residential house is about 1.2 to 1.5 meters, and the width of the interior double-leaf door is about 0.9 to 1.2 meters to ensure the smooth passage of people and goods. In terms of the passage space, enough width should be reserved. Neither being too narrow nor too wide is appropriate. The size of the door and window should be designed according to specific circumstances and analyzed specifically. For the passage space, its size should be reasonably designed, and a reasonable design is an important prerequisite for ensuring the comfort of the customers’ living environment.
Style Matching

Overall Style: The style of the double-leaf door should match the overall decoration style. For example, a modern and simple style is suitable for double-leaf doors with simple lines and a flat shape; for a Chinese style, double-leaf doors decorated with Chinese elements such as the spiral pattern and lattice can be selected. The overall decoration style and the style matching are particularly important. Because nowadays is an era of aesthetics, aesthetics determine the style and appearance of the house. Therefore, when installing and choosing doors and windows, doors and windows that match the style should be selected.
Color Matching: The color of the door should be coordinated and unified with the surrounding environment. You can choose a color that is similar to or forms a contrast with the wall and furniture colors to achieve a beautiful effect. For example, a white wall matched with a dark double-leaf door can form a sharp contrast and highlight the three-dimensional sense of the door. Color matching also reflects a tendency in aesthetics. For instance, when choosing a color match, you can choose colors with high saturation or colors that are well-suited to the overall style of the furniture, giving people an impression of high compatibility.
Functional Requirements
Sound and Heat Insulation: If there is a high requirement for sound and heat insulation, double-leaf doors with insulating glass or filled with sound and heat insulation materials can be selected, and ensure that the sealing performance between the door and the door frame is good.
Safety Performance: For the entrance doors or double-leaf doors in some special places, consider their anti-theft, fireproof and other safety performances. Select hardware accessories such as door locks and hinges that meet relevant standards, and ensure that the structure of the door is sturdy.
Installation Considerations
Door Opening Treatment
Dimensional Accuracy: Before installation, accurately measure the size of the door opening to ensure that the errors in the height and width of the door opening are within the allowable range. Generally, the height error should not exceed 5 millimeters, and the width error should not exceed 3 millimeters. If the size of the door opening is inaccurate, it will result in an uneven installation of the door or the door cannot be opened and closed normally.

Verticality and Flatness: The wall surface of the door opening should be vertical and flat, otherwise it will affect the installation effect and sealing performance of the door. Before installation, uneven wall surfaces need to be trimmed, and cement mortar can be used for leveling treatment.
Hardware Accessories Installation
Hinge Installation: Hinges are key accessories of double-leaf doors. During installation, ensure that the position of the hinges is accurate and the screws are tightened so that the door can be opened and closed smoothly. The number of hinges depends on the weight and size of the door. Generally, 2 to 3 hinges are installed on one door.
Door Lock Installation: Select a reliable door lock and operate according to the instructions during installation to ensure that the lock core is firmly installed and the lock tongue can extend and retract normally. At the same time, pay attention to the appropriate distance between the position of the door lock and the edge of the door to ensure convenient use without affecting the appearance of the door.
Door Installation and Debugging
Installation and Fixing: After putting the double-leaf door into the door opening, use wooden wedges or other supports to temporarily fix the position of the door, and then adjust it to make the gap around the door and the door opening uniform. Generally, the gap width is about 3 to 5 millimeters. After confirming that the position is correct, use expansion screws or other fixing parts to firmly fix the door to the door opening.
Debugging and Inspection: After the installation is completed, conduct a comprehensive debugging of the door. Check whether the door opens and closes smoothly, and whether there is any 卡顿 (stuck) or abnormal noise; check whether the door is tightly closed and whether there is a situation of excessive gaps causing light leakage or air leakage. If there are any problems, adjust and repair them in a timely manner.

Other Considerations
Floor Treatment: If the floor is covered with flooring or carpet, consider the gap height between the door and the floor to avoid the door rubbing against the floor when opening and closing. Generally, the gap between the door and the floor is about 8 to 12 millimeters, which can be adjusted according to the actual situation.
Ventilation Problem: For some spaces that require ventilation, ventilation windows can be designed on the double-leaf door or door body materials with good ventilation performance can be used to meet the indoor ventilation needs.
Later Maintenance: In daily use, regularly check the hardware accessories of the double-leaf door, such as hinges, door locks, etc., and add lubricating oil in a timely manner to prevent rust and wear. At the same time, pay attention to keeping the surface of the door clean and avoid scratching the surface of the door with sharp objects.
