This project involved upgrading the window, door, and entrance systems of a high-end townhouse. The client wanted to improve natural daylight and ventilation, create a brighter and more open interior, and enhance the energy efficiency, acoustic performance, weather protection, and everyday operation of the systems. Based on the existing architecture, opening conditions, and surrounding environment, the project team optimized the window layout, glazing area, opening configurations, and façade proportions. Larger glass surfaces reduce visual obstruction, allow more natural light into the interior, and strengthen the visual connection between the home and the outdoors.

Optimized Window Layout and Glazing Area
The window layout was redesigned according to the opening dimensions and façade proportions, with larger glazing areas introduced where appropriate. Clean frame divisions minimize visual obstruction, bring more daylight indoors, and maintain a balanced exterior appearance.
Energy Efficiency and Year-Round Living Comfort
Dallas experiences hot summers and noticeable seasonal temperature changes. The client wanted to increase daylight while limiting heat transfer and reducing pressure on the home’s cooling and heating systems.

High-Performance Residential Window, Door, and Glazing Configuration
Window and door structures, glazing, and sealing systems were selected according to the residential requirements. The solution reduces thermal transfer and air infiltration while preserving natural daylight and improving year-round indoor comfort.
Inconsistent Façade Styling Across Windows and Entry Doors
The exterior windows, entry door, and garage-side façade serve different areas of the residence. Without coordinated colors, lines, and structural proportions, the exterior could appear fragmented and inconsistent.
