Natural Daylight

Large arched windows, floor-to-ceiling glazing, and day lighting windows increase the effective glazed area, bringing abundant natural light indoors and creating a stronger sense of openness.

Acoustic Comfort

Quality insulated glazing, tightly engineered frame-to-sash connections, and high-performance seals reduce traffic and surrounding environmental noise, creating a quieter and more relaxing home.

Water Tightness and Weather Protection

Multiple sealing lines and a refined drainage system reduce wind-driven rain and water penetration, protecting interior surfaces and helping maintain a dry and comfortable environment.

Wind Pressure Resistance

Robust aluminum profiles, multi-point locking systems, and reinforced connections improve wind resistance and provide reliable performance under Texas’s changing weather conditions.

Located in Dallas, Texas, the project was designed to preserve the residence’s original elegant architectural character while improving interior daylight, visual openness, year-round comfort, and overall facade consistency. DTP developed a complete aluminum window and door solution according to the existing openings, arched entrance porch, and architectural proportions. Large arched floor-to-ceiling windows and daylighting windows were introduced in the main living areas to reduce visual obstruction and bring more natural light indoors. Slim black frames add a contemporary character and give the exterior a cleaner, more refined appearance.

Selected Challenges & Solutions

Insufficient Daylight and Limited Facade Expression

The original window configuration used conventional proportions and limited glazing areas, reducing interior daylight and outdoor views while offering insufficient visual impact for the entrance and facade of a premium residence.

Large Arched Windows and Floor-to-Ceiling Glazing

Large arched windows, floor-to-ceiling glazing, and day lighting windows were combined with clean slim black frames. The expanded glass area brings more natural light indoors, reduces visual obstruction, and adds depth and premium architectural character to the facade.

Energy Efficiency and Comfort in the Texas Climate

Dallas experiences hot summers and intense sunlight. Although larger glazing improves natural daylight, it may also increase solar heat gain, cooling demand, and indoor temperature fluctuations.

High-Performance Aluminum Systems and Insulated Low-E Glass

High-performance aluminum profiles and insulated Low-E glazing reduce solar radiation and indoor-outdoor heat transfer. Combined with tightly engineered frames and multiple sealing lines, the system preserves daylight and openness while improving energy efficiency and year-round comfort.

Installation Accuracy and Detail Quality Control

Arched windows, large floor-to-ceiling glazing, and the customized entry door require precise opening measurements, frame positioning, connection details, and finishing. Minor deviations could affect appearance, sealing, and operation.

Precision Installation and Full-Process Quality Control

Opening dimensions were verified, frame alignment was adjusted, arched connections were inspected, hardware was commissioned, and multiple sealing treatments were completed. These measures ensure accurate installation, smooth operation, and reliable long-term air, water, and visual performance.
